A Roaring Heart

Pewter Scottish Lion Rampant Pendant

The King of Scots, William I 'The Lion', first flew the Lion Rampant in battle. Ever since, it has been a symbol of the proud Scots!

The simple Latin motto perfectly conveys the heart of the Lion:

Nemo me impune lacessit! - No one attacks me with impunity!

Count yourself lucky indeed if Scottish blood flows in your veins. Epic struggles and victories throughout the centuries have honed the blood into a treasure rich in strength and courage. After conquering most of Europe, even the mighty Roman legion tasted defeat at the hands of the relentless Scottish tribes. History shows that the free heart of the Highlander could never beat for long under the yoke of an oppressor.

Though long dead, the deeds of the great hero William Wallace will live on forever. When his people had no king, no army, and no weapons, he stood up and risked all against the powerful English. Every swing of Wallace's great claymore carved a new destiny for the Scottish people. Born a man, he died a legend.

Like Wallace, Scottish or not, each man will face his own great struggles before his end comes. Fear is the scourge of our age. When challenge comes, choose courage...choose the heart of the Lion!
